Christmas Weekend

Well now that Christmas is over, it is time to get cracking on basically not being lazy and getting involved with more projects! Despite my laziness, I had a great weekend including getting to go to the patriots game on Christmas eve! Between my two sides, family events are always loud, crazy and entertaining and this year certainly lived up to my expectations. Here are some of the shots from this weekend!

                         Some fun kids grab gifts!

The new coats that provided a small game of bouncing off each other!

I hope everyone got everything that they wanted and more! I certainly had one great christmas with some fun presents but mostly spending time with my family, most of which I do not see that often!

Christmas Wish List

So with Christmas only 6 days away, I'm clearly finding so many different products that I "want and need" for Christmas that I had not yet seen or known about when giving ideas for presents from my family and friends. While I will not necessarily be able to own these items, I can still lust over them. Here are a few items that I recently found. What about you? What is on your christmas wish list?

1) Portolano I-Touch Gloves: How great are these gloves? If you have any sort of touch screen phone, you wouldn't even have to take off your gloves to use your phone. I definitely need a pair!

2) Cuisinart Griddler: So I saw a commercial for this and immediately decided I wanted this. We use our George Forman so much at my house but after grilling chicken then trying to clean it is the biggest pain. This is great because the plates are removable and dishwasher safe AND it opens up to be a griddle so you can make pancakes then later make a panini. Its basically the best invention made for college students. This is a WANT!
3) Starbucks Black and White Mocha: Although this would not be a Christmas gift, any time I get this drink, I think of it as a gift. the White Chocolate Mocha mixed with regular Mocha is a drink sent from heaven. The first time I got it I was pulling an all-nighter studying for exams so I think it was even better at the time. Definitely a must try for anyone not sure what to get when they go to Starbucks!

4) Steve Madden 'Sparkk' Booties: I'm really into glittery and sparkly shoes right now and every since I DIYed my own shoes with gold glitter, I've been looking for other shoes similar or projects I can do. Steve Madden has an especially large amount of shoes with glitter and sparkle on them and these are ones that I love and truly need to have. I don't know how much I would wear them in Vermont but thats okay, you never know!

5) YSL Silver Clutch: For years I have coveted the YSL Muse bag, but this clutch is just awesome especially because it is in silver. I love that it is so bright and it can be used during the holidays or just a night out on the town.

6) Modalu 'Pippa' Wallet: Modalu has become a huge brand recently because of the one and only Pippa Middleton and her love for their recently renamed 'Pippa' handbag (one which I will be receiving for Christmas! So Excited). However, their wallets I also love. They are just so classic and simple, which as a soon to be graduating college student will be something that I 'need'! The best part about the Modalu brand is that despite their growing success, their prices (while in pounds) are relatively low, which is always a plus!

Summer's Best Treats

So I have seen so many different blogs that show their "favorite things" like makeup, bags, nail polish, ways to design, movies, etc. so I thought I would share some of my favorite items of this summer with you!

I absolutely adore Essie's nail polish and their assortments of colors, but I have to say this array of pink hues is probably one of my favorite collection so far!

I recently discovered Jonathan Adler and am now in love! When I walk into the store in Boston I never want to leave and usually I get pulled out kicking and screaming for more! The lamps are probably one of my favorite items that he makes (as I have 2 in my room, this one and this one). They look like they can belong in a summer cottage, boutique in LA or in my bedroom!

Target....well what can I say. It is the best place ever! Recently, they partnered with Calypso St. Barth and it is amazing! From the dresses, blouse's, bathing suits, beach bags and more, this line is more one could want for their summer clothing!

Sur La Table Jug
Starbucks Iced Passion Fruit Lemonade Iced Tea

Summertime is the time to drink chilled drinks like lemonade, iced tea, some nice mixed cocktails, etc. For Mother's Day, we got my mom (well my dad) an entire outdoor set full of plates, trays, dishes, candles, and the beverage dispenser from Sur La Table believe me, she uses it as much as she can! While this is nice to have at home, when you are on the run or just looking for something to drink while dealing with the heat, Starbucks Iced anything is great! Especially the Passion Iced Tea Lemonade drink that I have probably way to much during the summer...and I wonder where my money goes?

Spring cleaning? More like summer projects! If you are starting to work on different things around the house, painting is probably one of the most common jobs to do during the summer and trust me when I say that any color that reminds me of summer is on my walls! I love colors like mint, pale yellow, pale purple and others that are peaceful and remind me of summer, but all year long! Benjamin Moore has some great colors that last a very long time. Obviously, HGTV has some other great ideas if you are in need of one, so check out their website!

Finally, its time when you can dust off that grill and fire it up! Although in my house its always fired up, grilling is probably my favorite way of cooking during the summer. Its simple, easy and grilled chicken and steak and grilled vegetables are the best meals to make! Websites like Food Network, Simply Recipes, Martha Stewart and many others have great ideas for making even the plainest chicken meal into something delicious and inviting!

Recent Projects

So as a recent fan of DIY projects, I started with some small projects and I thought I would share them with you. I got these ideas from other blogs such as Ps...I made this and Honestly WTF! They have great ideas for DIY and other projects so definitely check them out!

Ps.. bronze/gold hex nuts are not as common as silver hex nuts and they don't come in large packs so you may have to go looking but once you find them its like GOLD! (no pun intended!)

I absolutely love these bracelets, super easy to make once you get the handle on braiding with nuts in the middle!

These shoes are by far my favorite DIY project that I have done so far. I saw something similar with silver sparkles and I loved it and decided that I wanted to try on a pair of shoes that I bought for a dinner while at school. They were cheap enough that I thought it was okay to change them up! Literally, all I used was my black heels, Mod- Podge, paint brushes and Martha Stewart Glitter packs and voila! Glitter heels! I cannot wait to wear them!

First Post!

Hey Guys!

So this is my first post on my brand new blog! Crazy to think that I would ever be doing something like this since I am definitely not a "journal er" or anything of that nature. However, I recently became somewhat intrigued by the "blog world" and started looking and following a few that include fashion, interior design, DIY projects, etc. I have always been interested in interior design, organizing, and basically keeping everything ridiculously clean and being able to see the different ways that other people do things was really helpful and got me thinking about how to work with many of the items in my life. So that has basically been the last two years, but this summer, a very broke and bored (hence the name) college student home for summer, I started looking at many different blogs to see many different DIY projects that I started to work on while home. Many of these projects were so simple and easy but it made me feel very crafty or as one of my friends would call it "martha stewarty."

So basically, as many other blogs have done and do, I am hoping to find inspiration from other bloggers and to show you the many different projects, ideas and inspirations that I come up with! I hope you enjoy them!
